What to expect from a visit with a Paris Greeter?

  • A Paris Greeter will take individuals or a group of up to 6 people (including children) on a visit in the city for 2 to 3 hours to sights or districts either chosen by the visitor or those they have selected themselves that they feel are of special interest.
  • They will take you to their favourite places, which may be historical or architectural sights, markets, cafes, workshops, studios...
  • They will share their stories and experiences of the city.
  • They can show you best ways of getting around Paris using the transport network and help you become acquainted with the city.
  • They are happy to answer any questions you may have to help you get the most out of your stay in Paris.
  • They will provide you with great moments, which you won't forget.
The Greeter’s visit is relaxed and fun. It’s informal and can be as flexible as you wish. We want visitors to feel welcomed and gain an appreciation of Paris from a local.

How do I book a visit with a Paris Greeter?

Submit your request to meet a Greeter by filling in the Visit Request Form.

  • The request has to be made 1 or 2 weeks before arriving in Paris.
  • A visit includes up to 6 people (including children and adults).
  • Visitors have to stay at least one night in Paris.
Please appreciate that visits are subject to the availability of a volunteer Greeter. Submitting the ‘Visit Request Form’ does not guarantee the availability of a Greeter.

What happens after I have submitted the Visit Request Form?

  • We will let you know if a Greeter is available and provide the Greeter’s details.
  • If a Greeter is not available we will let you know. If you receive a 'wait and see' answer: it means that we will continue to search for a Greeter up to the date of your arrival.
  • On your arrival in Paris please confirm your appointment with your Greeter.
  • Your Greeter will meet you at your accommodation which must be in Paris.
  • Your Greeter will take you for a 2 to 3 hour visit in the city either on foot or via public transport.
  • You will have to pay for your own and your Greeter’s tube and bus tickets throughout the visit.
  • You will be asked to complete a short satisfaction enquiry form at the end of your visit.
